Tim Sullivan – President
A recognized leader in all aspects of parent involvement in schools, Tim has spent his entire career in the education world. Tim's unique perspective on the education world comes from a variety of angles – first as a teacher and administrator at a NYC high school, then as a senior manager for a New England-based fundraising concern; and now as the founder and leader of School Family Media.
He has spoken at hundreds of parent group (PTO and PTA) meetings and to tens of thousands of parent group leaders all across the country. In print, on the radio and on national TV, Tim is a frequent contributor to national discussions on the importance of parent involvement in schools and the best practices for encouraging and enabling that involvement. He also maintains a role as a senior writer for PTO Today Magazine and as a featured blogger on both ptotoday.com and SchoolFamily.com.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Tim lives in Attleboro, Massachusetts with his wife Ellen and their four young children. Tim also serves as the HSA (Home & School Association) president at his children's school.
John Driscoll – Vice President, Sales & Business Development
John brings more than 20 years of experience to his senior role with School Family Media. As Vice President of Physician Sales for Web MD and as Vice President of Field Sales for Whittle Communications, John has built wide-ranging, effective sales teams that have called on a diverse selection of clients. With Whittle and with A+ America – a start-up fundraising company where he served as Vice President – John worked extensively in building mutually beneficial marketing programs focused on families with school-age children.
For the past six years, John has directed School Family Media's Marketing Solutions Group where he has led the growth and development of award winning programs such as School Family Nights® as well as the launch of Back2School. He has been instrumental in the development and creation of custom programs that help companies such as Procter & Gamble, American Express, Target, Disney, and Kellogg's connect with millions of moms and families with school-age children through print, online and unique event marketing opportunities.
John has been a featured speaker on the topic of marketing to moms through schools at conferences such as Kid Power and M2Moms (Marketing to Moms), and has been quoted in discussions on the topic in industry trade publications such as Ad Age, Marketing Sherpa, and MediaPost.
John is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and lives in Medfield, MA with his wife and three children.
Sue Dunn – Vice President, Marketing
Sue Dunn brings more than 20 years of marketing and advertising experience to her role at School Family Media. Previously, the Senior Creative Director at Monster, Sue has a proven track record in brand building, web site development and integrated marketing for both consumer and B2B brands. With a degree in Journalism, Sue started out as an advertising copywriter, and has spent the better part of her career helping a wide variety of blue chip brands position and sell their products and services. Her innovative creative work has been recognized in MIMC, Hatch, ADDY and Silver Microphone competitions, to name a few.
Since joining School Family Media in 2005, Sue has been instrumental in defining and building the company's brand messaging, positioning and visual identity and creating marketing programs and communications that speak to all SFM audiences: parent group leaders, parents, advertisers and consumer brand marketers. Sue also leads the creative execution and brand integration efforts for all of School Family Media's consumer-brand partnerships.
Sue is a graduate of Suffolk University and lives in Tucson, AZ with her partner, two kids and dog. When she's not thinking about marketing…well actually…she's always thinking about marketing.
Craig Bystrynski – Vice President, Content and Editorial
Since joining School Family Media in 2002, Craig has overseen the broad growth of the company's content efforts, widening our audience and strengthening our connection with them. Craig and his team of editors and writers have earned a reputation for understanding the needs and challenges of involved parents and parent group leaders like no others. Through an array of media, including print, online, e-newsletters, and custom publishing, they deliver the kind of informative, engaging content with a hands-on focus for which School Family Media has become known.
Craig has more than 20 years of experience as an editor and publisher. He has been lead editor on the launch of eight magazine titles and websites. He has been a featured speaker on magazine launches at the Folio: publishing conference and has been quoted in a variety of media outlets on school and parent-teacher topics. Craig is a graduate of Colby College and lives in Natick, MA.
